Why register Starlink in Ukraine at all
Starlink terminal verification is not a formality, but a mandatory procedure for the legal use of satellite internet in Ukraine. After verification, the device enters the so-called "whitelist" — and operates without restrictions. Unverified terminals may be blocked.
A separate emphasis is on security. Each confirmed device allows distinguishing legal communication from enemy equipment. That is why the state has scaled up the possibility of submitting data through Nova Poshta and Ukrposhta branches — to make the procedure as accessible as possible.
Where to get Starlink verification
As of now, individuals can register their terminal:
- at Nova Poshta branches;
- at Ukrposhta branches;
- at ASCs (Administrative Service Centers) (as before).
Expanding the network of submission points has significantly simplified the procedure — especially for small towns and villages where an ASC might be far away.
Limits and important conditions for individuals
There are several fundamental points worth knowing before visiting a branch:
- One terminal — can be verified remotely, without physically bringing the device.
- Two to three terminals — you need to have them with you when submitting the application.
- If there is more equipment — additional checks may apply.
Based on the experience of people who have already gone through the procedure: if you have one Starlink, it is enough to simply provide the data correctly — the branch employee checks the information, you sign the application, and that's it.
Specifics for legal entities
For companies, the procedure differs:
- submission is done entirely online through the Diia portal;
- there is no need to physically bring the device to the branch;
- all data is submitted electronically.
Practice shows that for businesses, the procedure is faster if all terminal data is collected centrally in advance.
What data needs to be prepared for registration
For each terminal, you need to prepare in advance:
- UTID or Dish ID;
- kit serial number;
- Starlink account number.
Practical tip: do not look for this data at the last minute at the branch. Log into your Starlink account or check the information on the box and equipment in advance. The most common problem is an error in one digit of the UTID.
Step-by-step instructions: how to register Starlink via Nova Poshta or Ukrposhta
Step 1. Prepare all data
Write down the UTID/Dish ID, serial number, and account number in advance. If registering 2–3 devices — prepare each one separately.
Step 2. Bring documents
You will need a passport or another identity document. Some branches may ask for an ITN (Individual Taxpayer Number).
Step 3. Visit the branch
Inform the employee that you need to undergo Starlink terminal verification. In large cities, staff are already familiar with the procedure; in smaller ones — sometimes you need to clarify that it is terminal registration.
Step 4. Filling out the application
The employee will enter your data into the system. You check the correctness of the entered information and sign the application.
Step 5. Awaiting verification
After submission, the information undergoes verification. According to user reviews, this can take from several days to several weeks.
After being added to the "whitelist," communication works without restrictions.
How long does verification take
Based on user experience:
- on average — 3–10 business days;
- during peak loads — longer;
- in case of data error — the process stops until the information is clarified.
If the status has not changed after several weeks, it is recommended to contact support or re-clarify the data at the branch.
Typical registration errors
- incorrectly specified UTID;
- confusion between antenna and kit serial number;
- submission of an incomplete list of devices;
- attempting to register multiple terminals without their physical presence.
Most rejections are related to technical errors in numbers.
